Orlando (nicknamed "The City Beautiful") is a city in central Florida and the county seat of Orange County. The geography of Orlando is generally flat, mostly wetlands and consisting of many lakes and swamps.
As one of the world's most visited tourist destinations, Orlando's famous attractions form the backbone of its tourism industry. The two most significant of these attractions are Walt Disney World, opened by the Walt Disney Company in 1971 and the Universal Orlando Resort, opened in 1990 as a major expansion of Universal Studios Florida.
Orlando International Airport, was built from a portion of the McCoy Air Force Base. McCoy Air Force Base officially closed in 1975, and most of it is now part of the airport. The airport still retains the former Air Force Base airport code (MCO).
